Being an artist isn’t quite a career choice for me but a necessity. Everything I do has an element of art. From making a meal to creating a sculpture, creativity is a constant. Art is a part of who I am. I find that I am always problem solving and creating things even in my leisure time. Cutting the lawn sometimes results in concentric circles and patterns. It’s how I go about life.
With Illustration as my background 2 dimensional art was my original focus. I went from portraits of people and pets to murals on ceilings and stairwells. But it was in a shared studio that I started working in clay, then and there I was hooked and began sculpting.
Painting and sculpture have dual rolls in my art and life.
Paint lends its self to the visual need for color, light and perspective practice. Sculpture gives me form, gesture and proportion skills. Currently I am enjoying my dual career as a painter/sculptor in my studio in Pawtucket, Rhode Island.
